Role - Motion Designer

Air pollution, the largest global environmental health threat, significantly shortens lifespans, harms economic productivity, and causes premature death and disease.

This study updates estimates of air pollution-related deaths and morbidity across all Indian states in 2019, indicating a higher burden than previously estimated.

In India, evidence is mounting on the adverse effects of both short-term and long-term exposure to air pollution, with significant impacts on disease burden, mortality, and life expectancy across states. The Global Burden of Disease Study 2017, enhanced by GBD 2019's improved methods and data, indicates a higher burden of death and disease from air pollution than previously estimated.

The study highlights substantial inter-state variations in the economic impact of ambient particulate matter, household air pollution, and ambient ozone pollution, both in absolute terms and as a percentage of gross domestic product. These variations underscore the need for targeted interventions at the state level, informed by the study's detailed and updated findings.

To visually communicate these crucial findings, a motion graphic cover design was created, employing TouchDesigner for near-realistic simulations of air pollution. This visual representation aims to effectively convey the severity of air pollution's impact and the urgency of addressing it, making the study's insights accessible and compelling for a broader audience.
